While representing thousands of commercial transportation and pharmaceutical drug cases across the United States and worldwide, our attorneys developed a reputation for breaking new ground, holding Fortune 500 companies accountable, influencing public policy, raising public awareness and improving product safety. The search for an attorney that you can trust, who can serve your needs and with whom you feel comfortable can be a difficult task. Some of our clients chose us above 30 other law firms that they had interviewed.
Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman is recognized as a preeminent plaintiff firm that handles serious personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits across the nation stemming from commercial transportation and pharmaceutical drug products liability. Additionally, the firm handles class actions and whistleblower lawsuits. Since 1973, we have represented thousands of victims in airline, general aviation, bus, train and trucking accidents as well as clients injured by defective pharmaceutical products. These types of cases routinely involve complicated evidence and choice of law issues in both state and federal courts throughout the country. See Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman’s published cases.
Our attorneys come from diverse backgrounds and offer a unique combination of skills that are particularly useful in the investigation of defective products, consumer fraud, and commercial transportation accidents. Three of the firm’s attorneys are also pilots, two have engineering degrees, and four were adjunct law professors. Among our lawyers is also a registered nurse, former public servants, a former district attorney, former magistrates, mediators, arbitrators, and two former assistant attorneys general.
Former Adjunct Aviation Accident Law Professor, Ronald L. M. Goldman, is a private pilot, John Greaves is an airline-transport pilot and served as a captain of a major airline, and Timothy Loranger is a pilot and former jet aircraft mechanic. Paul Hedlund has a degree in mechanical engineering and Ilyas Akbari has a bioengineering degree. In addition to Ronald Goldman, Clark Aristei, Diane Marger Moore, and Mark Schlein (also a former S.W.A.T. commander and deputy sheriff) were also adjunct law professors prior to joining Baum Hedlund.
Baum Hedlund’s staff has the experience and education to effectively handle complex cases from intake to resolution. Our attorneys have been appointed to 23 plaintiff steering committees in mass tort litigation that manage complex multi-district litigation arising from airline and train disasters, pharmaceutical drug defects and construction failures. Our attorneys have tried well over 200 cases in their careers. Many of the firm’s attorneys have also delivered Continuing Legal Education accredited lectures on the complexities of mass tort litigation.
We have successfully defeated many defendants, including major airlines, rail organizations, pharmaceutical companies and even the federal government, in their attempts to argue that federal law preempted our clients’ claims in aviation accidents, trains disasters and drug product liability cases.
Many of the firm’s partners have spearheaded, and participated in, proactive campaigns that have led to safety improvements. Baum Hedlund attorneys have testified on at least eight occasions at state and federal levels regarding commercial transportation, building and drug safety and upon invitation by a foreign government to testify about the risks of a certain U.S. manufactured medication.
Baum Hedlund’s staff includes attorneys from top law schools, many of whom have earned the highest attorney AV® Preeminent Peer Review rating*, and are listed in Best Lawyers in America, Marquis Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law.
