Bruno F. DeZayas
Mr. DeZayas was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School, Tulane University and Florida State University’s College of Law.

Mr. DeZayas has a proven track record in representing clients throughout Florida. He strongly believes client contact is what drives the engine of an efficient firm, and he is actively engaged and responsive when a client has a question or concern with their case. In addition, Mr. DeZayas is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently. He offers staff that is also fluent in Spanish to better represent the Hispanic community in Central Florida.

William P. Friel
Mr. Friel is an original partner of DeZayas Friel, LLC. The two have worked together since 2007.

Mr. Friel graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland, followed by a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from St. Leo College. Upon completion of his degree, he was accepted into Polk County’s Florida Police Academy. Mr. Friel completed the academy and worked for the Lakeland Police Department (LPD) beginning in 1986. During his employment with the LPD, Mr. Friel attended Barry University School of Law. He retired from the Lakeland Police Department in 2003 and turned his full attention to the legal profession.

Before joining with Mr. DeZayas, Mr. Friel spent time as an Assistant State Attorney and he handled cases primarily involving domestic violence, misdemeanors and felonies.

Stephanie Durrance Weil
Stephanie is a fifth generation Polk County resident, raised in Lakeland. She graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School, the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University Law School.

Stephanie was a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office prior to coming to DeZayas Friel where she handled thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases, ranging from simple possession of drugs to violent crimes and DUI manslaughter. She was nominated by law enforcement for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) 2017 Florida DUI Prosecutor of the Year and was recognized by Polk County MADD as the 2016 and 2018 Polk DUI Prosecutor of Distinction. She is handling criminal law, family law, general civil litigation, personal injury and workers’ compensation.

Stephanie along her with her husband and children live in Lakeland. They are avid USF football fans.
