The LAW OFFICES OF ALBERT RIZZO, P.C. provides corporate, business and employment law representation to individuals, partnerships, corporations and other business entities, and acts as "in house" general counsel to many small-business owners.
We focus primarily on laws affecting businesses, employment and human resources management, and counsel our clients on federal, state and local regulations, laws and procedures.
A substantial part of our practice is dedicated to prosecuting and defending our clients' legal rights in complex business and employment litigation in the federal and New York state courts and before governmental administrative agencies.
With almost three decades of legal representation and successful litigation experience, our approach stresses the importance of close relationships with our clients, being proactive, and creating the perfect partnership between the client's business and our sound legal advice and guidance.
We represent our clients in real estate transactions, including residential and commercial sales and purchases of real property, financing, and office and retail leasing.
With our affiliate office located in Rome, Italy, we represent clients based in Italy doing business in the United States and our American clients doing business in Italy.
The Law Offices of Albert Rizzo, P.C. comprise the collective knowledge and experience of top-tier lawyers in our practice areas through our Of Counsel relationships.
We’ve moved away from the traditional law firm model of having partner and associate attorneys. Through our Of Counsel relationships we collaborate with an extensive personal and trusted network of very experienced partner-level attorneys--a network that has been garnered through many years of working together in the representation of numerous clients.
This network of collaboration, unlike a traditional law firm, enables us to operate under a different business model that does not emphasize a mandatory hourly billing structure by attorneys on staff. Rather, there is an entrepreneurial and business-like approach to billing based on the value of the representation that our experienced Of Counsel attorneys bring to the client.
First-rate lawyering and representation without the inefficiencies and redundancies of the traditional law firm.
Albert Rizzo has 30 years of experience litigating complex commercial business disputes, employment discrimination cases, sexual harassment claims, wrongful termination claims, real estate and title disputes, fraud claims, and corporate and partnership dissolutions. His practice areas also include business and corporate law, contract law, employment law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and Italian law.
Al is highly respected by his clients and peers. His successes as a litigator, negotiator and mediator are numerous. He serves as outsourced General Counsel for many small and closely-held businesses, individual entrepreneurs and start-up companies. And, because of his particular qualifications in employment law and human resources issues, he often acts as a legal consultant to Human Resources managers and personnel.
As a trained and certified mediator and arbitrator, he brings to the table an impressive wealth of litigation and business experience representing numerous clients in the New York State and Federal courts, as well as in arbitration, mediation and administrative proceedings. As a business owner, he understands the legal issues and challenges that companies face--from formation to conflict management to potential litigation.
Al is an active member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations, a public arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and an Adjunct Professor at New York University's Graduate School of Professional Studies. He is also the author of several published articles and maintains a Blog, called "The Legal Firewall," on business and employment law issues.
He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Federal courts of the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, Northern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey, as well as the state trial and appellate courts of New York.
