Meet Our Team
Steven Katzman has more than 40 years of legal experience in the Colorado Courts. William Beck worked for many years as a prosecutor, gaining expertise in prosecution tactics before deciding to use that knowledge to defend clients.
Norm Thom was in charge of the public defender’s office for the 4th Judicial District. In 1986 Norm Thom founded this firm with Bobby Daniel. They were joined in 2007 by Steven Katzman, who had his own criminal defense and family law firm in the Denver area since 1978. Bobby Lane Daniel passed away in September of 2010.

Steven Katzman is skilled and caring trial lawyer with over 40 years of experience, representing people accused of criminal offenses in Colorado as well as divorce, custody, and post decree matters.
Steve graduated from Arapahoe High School in Littleton and the University of Colorado in Boulder. He received his law degree from Lewis and Clark College’s Northwestern School of Law in 1978. While in law school, Steve was on the law review, served as a teaching assistant for first year law students, and was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence (Am Jur) Award.
Steve ran his own law practice in the Denver area for 29 years before joining with Norm Thom on May 1, 2007. He has handled over a thousand cases involving all areas of family law, serious felonies, misdemeanors, DUIs, and traffic offenses for adults and juveniles in courts all over the state of Colorado.
Steve has appeared on numerous news programs in Denver and Colorado Springs commenting on issues involving DUI cases and criminal law.
Steve is active in the local community. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Evergreen Children’s Chorale and served as President of the Board of the Evergreen Lightningboltz. He continues to be a mentor/adviser to mock trial students at Arapahoe High School.
He was a member of the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners for 9 years. He has been an Associate Municipal Judge in the City of Littleton for over 25 years and served as President of the Colorado Municipal Judges Association in 2010 – 2011.
Steve enjoys travel, reading, and spectator sports, especially Rockies baseball. Steve is a professional potter and has shown his work at numerous shows in the Denver area. He has two adult children.

William Beck, Managing Partner
William is an experienced and compassionate attorney who has been representing good people in difficult situations for years. William started his legal career here in Colorado Springs as a Deputy District Attorney, and most recently was in private practice at his own firm. His focus has been on helping the individual in their time of greatest need with a combination of compassionate understanding out of court and aggressive negotiations in court.
William (Bill) grew up on the east coast in Upstate New York, before moving to the Seattle area during High School. He graduated from Puyallup High School in Puyallup, WA, and then relocated to Utah and Ohio before settling in Colorado. Bill left Colorado for Idaho, where he attended and graduated from Brigham Young University – Idaho with a degree in English. He then returned to Colorado, where he received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
When not defending people in court, he spends his time with his wife, Linda, and 5 children. He enjoys cooking, playing guitar (badly), playing games with his kids, reading science fiction and fantasy novels, watching Netflix, and exploring beautiful Colorado with his family.
